Dental Implants

Regain your smile's form and function with our permanent dental implant solution. Dental implants offer the closest alternative to natural teeth, letting you laugh, eat, and live confidently.

Offering unparalleled stability, durability, and aesthetic appeal, dental implants can truly revolutionise your quality of life.

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are artificial tooth roots, usually made of titanium, surgically anchored into your jawbone to replace missing teeth. These implants provide a sturdy base for fixed (permanent) or removable replacement teeth, designed to match your natural teeth in appearance and function.

What are the benefits of dental implants?

Dental implants are highly sought after for a reason - they have many significant benefits:

  • They are designed to fuse with bone, becoming a permanent part of your mouth and being a fixed solution.
  • Unlike poorly fitted restorations, implants stay in place, letting you speak and eat comfortably.
  • With good care, implants can last for decades or even a lifetime.
  • Installing an implant doesn’t require altering your other healthy teeth.

Who are dental implants ideal for?

Most people who are in good general health and have sufficient jawbone to support an implant are suitable candidates for this procedure.

Dental implants are an excellent solution for those who have lost a tooth or teeth due to injury, periodontal disease, or other reasons.

What is the procedure for dental implants?

The dental implant process is lengthy and requires several steps and months of planning and healing:

  1. Dr Faraaz Mathir will perform a comprehensive examination of teeth, gums and jaw, take X-rays, and develop a personalised treatment plan.
  2. The implant, a small titanium post, is surgically placed into the socket. The jawbone will start to heal around the metal post, entirely enclosing it in the jaw. This can take several months.
  3. The next step is attaching the abutment, asmall connector post, to the implant.
  4. The last step is attaching the crown, bridge or partial denture that will act as the replacement tooth or teeth. This matches your natural tooth colour and shape and is attached to the abutment over the implant.

How do I care for my dental implant?

Dental implants need the same maintenance as natural teeth, including brushing, flossing and regular dental check-ups. Although implants can’t cause cavities, you can still get gum disease, so good oral hygiene is essential.
